Human Rights Watch is an international organization “dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. By focusing international attention where human rights are violated, [it] give[s] voice to the oppressed and hold[s] oppressors accountable for their crimes.” Many of the organization’s reports and calls to action focus on the diverse rights-based impacts of business activity.

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers is a “community-based organization of mainly Latino, Mayan Indian and Haitian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida.” Their campaigns focus on labor rights and on “socially responsible purchasing in the corporate food industry.”

FoodFirst Information and Action Network – FIAN
“FIAN is an international human rights organization that has advocated for the realization of the right to food for more than 20 years. FIAN consists of national sections and individual members in over 50 countries around the world.” Their calls to action focus on issues related to land and food.

Friends of the Earth International
Friends of the Earth International is a network of grassroots environmental organizations from every continent. Their calls to action feature immediate and long-term calls to address problematic business activities, among other issues.

Oxfam International
“Oxfam is an international confederation of 15 organizations working together in 98 countries and with partners and allies around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.” Their calls to action address a wide range of issues that often implicate business activity.

Corporate Accountability International: United States “Corporate Accountability International has been waging winning campaigns to challenge corporate abuse for more than 30 years. We were there at the beginning of this movement to demand direct corporate accountability to public interests and have been at its forefront ever since.” The organization provides individuals with the opportunity to directly challenge harmful corporate action.

The National Economic & Social Rights Initiative builds social movements to address economic and social rights. Their calls to action have addressed the impact of business activity on the rights to work, education, health and housing.

Great Basin Resource Watch: United States
The Great Basin Resource Watch is a non-profit organization in Nevada that has closely monitored the impact of mining and nuclear activities on the environment and Native American populations. European Coalition for Corporate Justice, Belgium
“The European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ) promotes corporate accountability (CA) by bringing together national platforms of civil society organizations (CSOs) including NGOs, trade unions, consumer advocacy groups and academic institutions from all over Europe.” Its calls to action encourage people to “hold companies operating in the EU legally accountable for any harm they cause to people and the environment around the world.
